    Science 
    Mad Science after school club meets for six week sessions on Wednesdays.  Mad Science flyers are sent home just prior to each session and if you would like additional information please call 858-505-4880.     Art
    Art Smarts meets Tuesdays for seven or eight week sessions that run consecutively all year.   Students learn drawing and painting techniques using multiple mediums; oil pastel, colored pencil, watercolor, and more.  Flyers go home just prior to each session for sign ups or visit www.artsmarts.net.  If you have questions call 619-465-0970.   
     
    Dance
    Heartlight San Diego meets on Tuesdays for six week sessions and flyers to sign up will go home just prior to each session.  Students will learn fun dances and have an opportunity to perform live in the San Diego area.  For more information visit www.heartlightsandiego.com.

    Chess
    The After School Chess Club is coming soon to Avondale.  Sessions run for six weeks beginning in March, 2017.  Studies have shown playing chess helps students to be more successful in school by improving critical thinking skills, developing patience and concentration, enhancing creativity and boosting pattern recognition and memory.  If you would like more information about the club call 858-461-8616.
     
    Safety Patrol
    In partnership with the California Highway Patrol, Avondale's student Safety Patrol monitors crosswalks and curbside pick up so that our campus is a safer place.  Students learn responsibility, leadership, and more.  
     
    Student Council
    Avondale's Student Council helps students to learn leadership skills while participating in coordinating school spirit days and more.  The club's adviser is fifth/sixth grade teacher Mr. Steven Sheeler.
