If you\u2019d like, your children\u2019s teachers may appreciate your help with clerical tasks (copying, cutting, sorting) or working with a small group of children. Don\u2019t be shy\u2014we\u2019ll show you how.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Parent Groups<\/strong>&nbsp;help us make important decisions regarding our policies, programs, and learning environment. You\u2019re always welcome to join or just attend the meetings that are convenient. Check the website or notices for dates and times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) \u2013 These dedicated Avondale parents and staff members meet once a month to plan fun school events and to raise funds for our students\u2019 study trips and a variety of other purposes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SSC (School Site Council) \u2013 Parents and staff members review information on Avondale students\u2019 achievement, school budgets, safety, and programs \u2013 always with the goal of making our great school even better! All are welcome to attend monthly meetings and provide input. Voting members are elected each fall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ELAC (English Learners Advisory Council) \u2013 Our ELAC serves as a connection to the families of our English Learners and advises the SSC regarding their needs.&nbsp; Four meetings each year are held.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The District Parent Advisory Committee (DPAC) functions both as the district\u2019s parent advisory committee (DAC), per Education Code (EC) 52063, as well as the district\u2019s English learner advisory committee (DELAC), per EC 52176. DPAC\u2019s primary purpose is to foster open communication between the school district and school-based parent advisory committees (SSC, ELAC), parents, and community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Parent representatives meet with Superintendent David Feliciano to discuss parents\u2019 perspectives on programs and policies.
