Bargaining Update

The District and the Teachers Association bargaining teams met Thursday, February 25, 2021, for three hours to identify the issues that need to be addressed for reopening schools moving forward.

Some of the specific issues discussed today in our limited amount of time included: Monday planning time, preparation of classrooms for student return, safety protocols and preparations at school sites, and the personal financial contribution that almost every teacher has made this year to ensure the success of virtual and hybrid learning.

We will meet again soon to continue our discussions on these and other identified issues and will share more information as it becomes available.

Respectfully,

Emily Scheitlin and Ernesto D. Villanueva

Bargaining Chair and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
