Our four middle school options provide pathways for a diversity of interests in academic instruction.
Parkway Middle School provides caring instruction with high academic achievement that La Mesa-Spring Valley School District is known for, emphasizing reading and writing across all subjects. Students at Parkway Middle School can choose from several elective options and receive regular instruction focused on character development using the Six Pillars of Character.
Spring Valley Academy offers students inquiry-based, hands-on learning experiences that lay a strong foundation for advanced high school and university coursework. Caring staff and teachers focus on developing the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally.
La Mesa Arts Academy (LMAAC) is for students in the LMSV attendance area and outlying communities entering grades 4-8. LMAAC combines a rigorous academic program with a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, standards-based arts curriculum. Students who would like to enroll must complete an application of interest.
The STEAM Academy at La Presa incorporates excellence in traditional academics with a particular focus and emphasis on hands-on, engaging STEAM learning for fourth to eighth-graders. Students of the STEAM Academy spend 90+ hours of extended learning time in math and science in lab-based projects and extracurricular activities.
As part of our Trust Blended Learning program, we offer home and independent learning options for K-8 students who are unsure about returning to in-person school or wish to continue online and distance learning for any reason. This program supports traditional home school, online-only learning, or a blended model that works best for each student and family.
