San Diego County Air Pollution Control District (APCD)'s mission is to improve air quality to protect public health and the environment. They need our students to help. APCD wants to encourage students to think about the importance of clean, breathable air and help spread the word about what the average person can do to help us all breathe a little easier. Students are welcome to submit artwork for a 2019 calendar where each month will showcase air quality artwork created by students. The calendar art will be chosen in a contest where the 13 most creative designs (1 for the cover and 1 for each month) are selected from student entries for grades K through 12. The artwork must demonstrate ways to reduce air pollution and may include a clean air message. The contest begins immediately and all submissions must be postmarked by Friday, November 2, 2018. Also, even if a student’s artwork is not used in the calendar, the APCD website will have a gallery of all the submissions.

For the security of everyone on campus, we ask that ALL adults visiting during school hours sign in at the front office to receive a blue and yellow name badge. Adults not wearing a name badge on campus will be asked to return to the office to sign in.
Please save Box Tops and return them to your child's teacher or beautiful white mailbox in the front office.
Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. Fully Trained and Certified Service Animals as defined here are the only animals allowed on campus.
If a student is picked up at any time before the end of the school day, he/she must be picked up by the parent/guardian listed in the office computer. The ONLY exception to this rule is that a parent/guardian can send in a note (with his/her signature) stating who will be picking up their child on that specific date.
IMPORTANT: If you want to pick up your child before the end of the school day, it must be BEFORE 2:00pm (M,W,Th,F) or 12:45pm (Tuesdays). Anyone arriving after this time will need to wait until classes are dismissed to take your child. The end of the day is a very busy time in the classroom as students pack up to go home and some classes end their day in PE, which makes it difficult to get messages to them. Thank you for understanding.
If you have any questions about this new policy, please feel free to call the office.
