What is the PTA?
La Mesa Dale PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a group of volunteer parents, family members, teachers, and staff who are working to make La Mesa Dale the best place for our students. Everybody is welcome and we are always looking for new volunteers to join the team!
Together the PTA hosts events to foster community, raise money for school programs, events, and supplies, and generally support the school’s efforts. PTA members are led by a PTA Executive Board that holds monthly meetings for planning and budget oversight.
Becoming a member does not require volunteering for committees or events, though it’s a great way to be involved! It simply gives you the right to vote on important decisions at our two yearly Association Meetings. You can become a PTA member here.
Executive Board
Our PTA Executive Board meets once per month on the first Thursday. These are detail-orientated meetings where we discuss logistics and fiscal matters.
Association Meetings
Our two annual meetings are:
- Back to School Night (August): welcome, budget approval
- Open House (March): annual elections for Executive Board positions
Committees
Committees do the nuts and bolts of event planning. There’s so many ways to get involved with what interests you and where your skills will be best utilized!
PTA Volunteer Opportunities
Our PTA offers a variety of ways for families to get involved, whether you have time during the school day, after school, or from home. This overview explains each volunteer opportunity, what it involves, and the approximate time commitment. No experience is needed and we will train you.

The PTA Impact
The PTA sponsors and hosts several events throughout the school year. Some of these events are fundraisers to help raise proceeds for the school and enrich the students’ experiences at La Mesa Dale Elementary. Our main fundraising event is the annual Rainbow Dash, which raises thousands of dollars each year.
All PTA fundraisers and donations go directly back to support our students and teachers:
