La Mesa Arts Academy serves 6th – 8th graders!

It is the goal of LMAAC to provide students with an innovative arts program where they perform in visual arts, dance, music, and theater using an interdisciplinary curriculum that develops creative talents in order to attain measurable artistic and academic excellence, while also creating opportunities that will support our underlying principle of character and leadership!

School Announcements:

For the 2026 - 2027 school year, we will have grades 6-8. This will be the home school for our residents in grades 6-8. You can check your address here. You may also apply for a transfer during the transfer window if this is not your home school. The transfer window will be open from December 1, 2025 - February 16, 2026. Families that apply for a transfer will most likely be notified by the end of February if they have been accepted. All transfers received from February 17, 2026, forward will automatically be placed on a waitlist.

If this is your home school and are not currently attending in our district, you will need to enroll your student here beginning February 1, 2026. If you are waiting on a transfer approval, please do not enroll until your transfer has been approved.

If you live within the La Mesa Spring Valley School District but not in the LMAAC boundaries, you will need to complete an intradistrict transfer request here. Be sure to choose INTRA on the dropdown menu.

If you live outside the La Mesa Spring Valley School District, you will need to complete an interdistrict transfer request here. Be sure to choose INTER on the dropdown menu. If your child is selected through the lottery in late February, you will need to have an interdistrict transfer form completed at that time. School tours are not being offered this year because feeder school students will attend two daytime performances at LMAAC. Our counseling team and principal will also visit the feeder schools. Parents are invited to attend an informational Zoom meeting on February 10 at 5:00 p.m. Families will receive an email sent to the primary email on file that evening with elective course options. Families may also attend one of our spring performances; tickets can be purchased here.
