Spring Flag Football Parent Handbook (Practice & SEL)
At ESSPN, we believe in transparency, partnership, and coaching the whole child. To support your athlete’s development both on and off the field, we have combined our practice materials and our Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum into one comprehensive handbook for this Spring season.
- On the Field (Practice Materials): Details the drills and skills included in our curriculum, allowing you to reinforce what is being taught at practice.
- Off the Field (SEL Curriculum): Rooted in our “Meaningful Play” philosophy, this section outlines the core principles we focus on each week—such as resilience, integrity, emotional regulation, and teamwork—giving you the tools to continue these valuable conversations at home.
- Note on Adaptive Pacing: Please note that our coaches are encouraged to adjust the pacing of these lessons to best suit the skill level of their specific team. These resources are intended as a supportive tool rather than a strict daily schedule.
Sport Rules
To ensure safety and maximize learning, ESSPN utilizes a specific set of rules tailored for our student-athletes. Familiarizing yourself with these rules will help you follow the action on the field with clarity and confidence.
Spectator Expectations & Respecting the Game
Please remember that our coaches and officials are doing their absolute best to provide a fun and safe environment for your children. We ask for grace and patience as they facilitate the game.
- Expectations: For a full overview of our spectator standards, please review our Parent Code of Conduct
- Have a Concern? If you have specific questions or concerns regarding rulings, please do not approach officials during or after the game. Instead, please direct your professional feedback to ESSPN@lmsvschools.org.
