New California School Boards Association President is Long-Time La Mesa-Spring Valley School Board Member, Dr. Emma Turner

Dr. Emma Turner has been voted as the president of the California School Boards Association (CSBA), a group representing over 1,000 educational agencies statewide. Dr. Turner has served on the Board of Education of the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District for over 12 years, and was appointed CSBA president at the recent Annual Education Conference in San Francisco where she and district superintendent, David Feliciano, were able to meet some of the more than 5,000 participants. Dr. Turner has been a passionate and vocal advocate for children both in La Mesa-Spring Valley Schools and throughout the state. Her personal values center on equity and access for all children. She is also deeply committed to the work of early childhood education.
