Welcome to the Facilities Planning & Construction Department. Our department plans and delivers improvements to District schools and facilities in support of safe, welcoming, accessible, and effective learning environments for every child. Through long-range planning, careful project management, and responsible stewardship of public funds, we work to ensure District facilities continue to meet the changing needs of students, staff, and the communities we serve. The department is responsible for:
Planning, design, and construction of modernization and improvement projects at District schools and facilities Administration and oversight of the Measure V Bond Program Development and periodic updates of the District’s Facilities Master Plan Management and updating of the District’s Facilities Condition Assessment Identification and prioritization of critical facility and infrastructure needs Coordination of project planning with school sites and District departments Identification of facility funding opportunities Coordination of applications for state and federal facility funding Obtaining required state and local approvals for school construction projects Oversight of architectural, engineering, inspection, testing, and construction services Long-range planning for enrollment, capacity, and future facility needs Planning the use of developer fee revenues and coordinating with Fiscal Services on annual and five-year reports and the School Fee Justification Study Reporting on project progress, expenditures, and bond program accountability.
